CeraMetal WearStrips are the same bimetallic product as CeraMetal's well established WearPlates. The mild steel backing plate allows WearStrips to be easily formed and welded into positions where it is most required. The advanced, high alloyed cladding will endure the most severe wear conditions.
CeraMetal WearStrips are available in different types and sizes, while specials are made on request. CeraMetal's technical department can advise on the suitability of use and fixing methods for individual applications.
CeraMetal WearStrips are used in earth moving equipment [Img. 2] and preparation and conveying systems for the coal, cement, steel and power generation industries. CeraMetal WearStrips give economical and fast repairs with quick interchangeability being a further advantage over direct hardfacing. With CeraMetal WearStrips, on site replacement is not a problem. Your equipment is ready for use immediately after fixing the strips. The plasma cut edges will allow precise positioning if necessary.
The surface of CeraMetal WearStrips offers superior wear protection. This is mainly due to the exceptionally high Carbide concentration. Chemical analysis of the cladding show 4.5% C and 33% Cr. The resulting Carbide concentration according to Maratray is (Carbides %)= 12.33%xC + 0.55%xCr - 15.2% = 54.8% in Carbides. A microscope view of the cladding's surface proves this high Carbide concentration [Img. 3].
